Decisions regarding admission will be made by the faculty as a whole. No doctoral student shall be admitted who does not have a majority vote of the program area faculty and who does not have a faculty member willing and available to serve as committee chair. Announcement of admissions decisions should be mailed approximately one month after the application deadline.
At the time of admission, a faculty member shall be assigned as a temporary advisor to provide initial program advising to the student. It is expected that during the first year of the student's enrollment, a permanent doctoral advisory committee shall be selected by mutual faculty and student consent. The chairperson and a minimum of two additional members from the program shall serve on the committee. Additionally, the committee shall have at least one additional member from outside the Department of Educational Psychology.
