Stellic FAQ's

Stellic is a degree‑management platform used to help students:

  • Visualize your road to graduation: Students can get an overview of their academic path in one place.
  • Plan their OU journey: Before meeting with their advisor, students can find and add classes to upcoming semester plans that match their interests and meet their requirements.
  • Track progress: Stay up-to-date with real-time, transparent degree audits and see what’s completed, in-progress, and still ahead.

No, students must still register on One. However, you can plan for future semesters using the Stellic Planning tool.

Yes, Stellic is not intended to replace academic advising; it is meant to enhance the partnership between you and your academic advisor. To maximize your advising experience, please visit the Stellic platform prior to your advising appointment, review your completed and remaining degree requirements, and plan courses for your upcoming semester(s).

Stellic lets you plan future semesters all the way through graduation. You can map out the courses you want to take, see prerequisites, and build a clear path forward.

Planning before registration sets you up for a smoother experience. With your courses mapped out and aligned with your degree requirements, you are ready  to register with confidence.

Official Audit: Shows courses you’ve completed or are currently enrolled in.

Planned Audit: Includes future courses you’ve added to your plan so you can see how upcoming terms will fulfill requirements.

The Stellic team is ready to assist you with technical support inside the platform.

Stellic uses color-coding and icons to show what’s completed, in progress, or still needed. Hover over any symbol for an explanation.

Course offerings are subject to change. To verify course availability, check the official OU course schedule using CLASSNAV or ONE.

No. Making a plan or adding a major/minor in Stellic does not officially change your academic record. To officially change your major or add a minor at OU, you must work with your academic advisor and follow the official change-of-major process.

Stellic simply lets you explore. You can try out different majors, add minors, and see how your completed courses fit—helping you understand what it would take to modify your plan.

Your advisor(s) can view your plans, track your progress, and make notes within Stellic. This allows for more informed and personalized advising at OU.

If requirements appear unmet incorrectly, courses are missing, or something doesn’t look right, contact your academic advisor. They can help clarify or update your records as needed.

A laptop provides the best experience when using Stellic. You can use a tablet, but a phone is not recommended because the smaller screen makes it difficult to navigate and view your audit and plans clearly.

Check with your advisor! In many cases, an advisor can grant an override that allows you to take a course even if Stellic still shows a prerequisite as unmet. Sometimes departments update course sequences, and Stellic may not yet reflect the change.

If your advisor recommended the course, you can be confident you’re allowed to enroll. If you’re planning independently and notice a prerequisite issue, make a note to ask your Academic Advisor before registering.

Stellic is a powerful planning and degree‑tracking tool, but there are a couple of things it cannot do at this time:

  • You cannot message your advisor through Stellic.
  • You cannot enroll in classes through Stellic — registration must still be completed in ONE.
