Projects for Peace grants are open to any individual or group of undergraduate students at participating universities to design and implement a project to promote peace. These are meant to be grassroots projects planned for implementation during the summer. The objective is to encourage and support today’s motivated young adults "to develop innovative, community-centered, and scalable responses to the world’s most pressing issues." Projects judged to be the most promising and attainable will be funded at $10,000 each. An OU student has received one of the $10,000 awards in every year the university has participated in the Projects for Peace program.
Submissions for Summer 2026 will reopen in December 2025. Please return to this page in early December for updated deadlines and submission guidelines
Any undergraduate students currently enrolled at OU are eligible to submit proposals. Seniors who will complete their projects in the summer after graduation may also apply.
Project teams can be composed in any combination of students from OU, other participating parner institutions, or non-partner institutions. Although each team member and their school need to be listed on the proposal and final report, the project lead must be an OU undergraduate in order for projects to be considered.
To be considered, a student, or group of students, must prepare a proposal consisting of two parts: the narrative and budget spreadsheet.
