OU IT Presents at Annual CoIT Conference

OU IT staff members presented at the Annual Council on Information Technology(CoIT) 2026 Higher Education IT Summit this past week. This two-day conference, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma, is an opportunity for higher education IT professionals throughout Oklahoma to learn from each other and engage with colleagues to network and explore trending topics.

The event features vendors, shop talks, keynote sessions, and breakout sessions. These breakout sessions are the primary focus of the two-day conference, as the higher education IT community leads them.  OU IT was one of the schools represented through 10 presentations. The conference had four focus tracks titled 'The Resilient Institution', 'The Intelligent Institution', 'The Human Centered Experience', and 'The Value-Driven IT Organization'.

The following are the presentations, presenters, and their topics:

  • Stopping Impersonation at the Source: Strengthening Service Desk Identity Verification with OUIDPIN - JEB Sheriff
  • OneOklahoma Cyberinfrastructure Initiative AI Consultants Program - Henry Neeman
  • Visualizing ZIP Code Data with Power BI - Joseph Cole
  • The Policy Playbook (Practical Implementation) - JEB Sheriff, April Dickson
  • Let's Talk about IT: IT Communication in Higher Ed - Katie Couch

Additionally, OU IT's CIO, Nishanth Rodrigues, represented OU on a Featured Session Panel titled Top 5 CIO Priorities 2026

The Oklahoma Council on Information Technology considers technology and related issues affecting Oklahoma higher education, proposes technology and related policy and procedures, and serves as the principal statewide advisory council rendering advice and counsel to the Chancellor of the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education, other advisory groups, and the entire state system in the review of current and recommended technology and related policy and procedures.
