Chief Information Officer
Nishanth Rodrigues brings over 20 years of strategic I.T. leadership experience as the CIO of OU IT. He joined OU IT in 2024.
In Nishanth’s previous role as the CIO at Ole Miss, he led several major I.T. initiatives, including the construction of a new data center to enhance capacity for research and academic services. Through various planning efforts and process improvements, Nishanth has led the institution in strategic digital transformational initiatives, supported the growth of university research, and helped prepare and position the university to deliver an improved faculty, staff, and student experience.
Nishanth also previously served as Assistant Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Michigan State University, and he also spent time in the healthcare industry at Bronson Healthcare, which includes three hospitals and 42 clinical practices, as its Director of I.T. and Chief Information Security Officer
In addition to his many accomplishments, Nishanth maintains professional affiliations that include the Cisco Higher Education Advisory Council, the SAP Higher Education Research Advisory Council, and the CIO Visions Steering Committee. His commitment to academic service is illustrated by the many committees he has either led or been a member of at each institution he has served. He holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Mississippi, a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Davenport University.
