Make a referral

Three Different Options

Online

We strongly prefer to receive reports through our online referral service. Complete the online form to make a referral.

Phone

The BIT number is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The line immediately goes to voicemail. Callers may leave a message that will be forwarded directly to the Behavior Intervention Team. To make a referral, call (405) 325-7700.

Referrals may also be made via email to NormanBIT@ou.edu. However, online referrals are encouraged and preferred. It is suggested that emails are utilized if you have a specific question for the BIT team.

What does BIT need to Know?

Providing as much information as possible is essential:

Student, faculty or staff member’s name and 9 digit ID number (if known).
Brief factual description of the incident or behavior.
Where and when the incident or behavior occurred.
Names and contact information of witnesses.
Your name, position and complete contact information.
Always save voice recordings, text messages, screenshots and emails on the device that received them. These can be uploaded to your referral.
