Gaylord College Students Win Multiple Awards at 2023 American Advertising Awards

Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication celebrates the remarkable achievements of its advertising students at the 2023 American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) Gala in the student categories, hosted by AAF Oklahoma at the Criterion in Oklahoma City.

The American Advertising Awards Competition is the advertising industry's largest and most prestigious competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local American Advertising Federation (AAF) club competitions. AAF Oklahoma, the local chapter, organizes the first of a three-tier, national competition that honors the outstanding contributions of advertising professionals.

The following Gaylord College students were honored for their exceptional work in the student categories:

  • Gold Award and Bronze Award for Copywriting
    • Haley Isler and Jackson Barbee
  • Gold Award for Copywriting
    • Nick Cox, Madi Foster, and Alexis Martinez
  • Gold Award for Integrated Advertising Campaign
    • Madeline Campion, Carlie Langlois, and Skylar Gardner
  • Silver Awards for Copywriting
    • Kelsie Wilson
    • Toby Highfill
    • Skylar Gardner

Additionally, the team of Madeline Campion, Carlie Langlois, and Skylar Gardner not only won a Gold Award for Integrated Advertising Campaign but also secured the coveted "Student Best of Show Award" in the student competition.

Gold medal winners will automatically advance to the regional competition, where they will face competition from larger markets and more schools. Successful performances at the regional stage will lead to advancement to the national competition.
