Carolyn Lien is a journalism major from Sioux City, Iowa anticipated to graduate in May of 2025. Lien believes in connection and the power of saying, “hi!” almost as much as she aspires to work in women’s sports or specifically gymnastics. Her experience truly speaks for itself: reporter at the OU Daily, internship with OU Athletics Communication and various others.

At this point in the school year, post-graduation jobs and internships are at the forefront of most seniors’ minds. For Gaylord College public relations senior Kate Frank, she’s already had that part down. This spring semester, Frank has been working in New York City as a public relations intern at the fashion house Hermes. While Oklahoma isn’t a state typically known for fashion, Gaylord has provided her with the personal branding, media relations, crisis communication and strategic PR knowledge that she uses every day at her internship at one of the most prominent brands in the fashion industry.
Dr. Desiree Hill is no stranger to Gaylord College, as we begin a new year Dr. Hill begins her first full semester as assistant dean of student affairs. As a Gaylord alumna, she is ready to dive into the college and looks at her new position as another connection between her own family and the college.
