Online Master of Science

The online Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics program is structured to develop the advanced skills to design and build tools to extract, assimilate and analyze data, and gain an understanding of the systems to predict and enhance future performance for enterprises across all domains of the private and public sectors. The Gallogly College of Engineering developed this program in collaboration with the Schools of Computer Science and Industrial and Systems Engineering, to provide you with a diverse set of in-demand technical and analytical data skills.

The online M.S. in Data Science and Analytics program is 33 credit hours and can be completed in 24 months. The program curriculum includes 24 credit hours of core courses and 9 credit hours of electives. A sample course sequence is below:

Admissions to the University of Oklahoma’s M.S. in Data Science and Analytics program is selective. The Data Science and Analytics Institute in the Gallogly College of Engineering has the following requirements for admission:

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA
• Coursework in:
  • Calculus I
  • Calculus II
  • Linear Algebra
  • Two semesters, or a year of high language programming (Java or C++ preferred) 
• TOEFL exam (international students)

The online M.S. in Data Science and Analytics admissions committee operates under a rolling admission process, the committee strives to respond to all applicants within two weeks from the time a completed application is submitted.

3. Official Transcripts
   • Official transcript(s) must demonstrate a conferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or previous postgraduate level studies with a level of achievement acceptable to the Admissions Committee.
   • The Office of Graduate Admissions prefers official transcripts to be submitted electronically to gradadm@ou.edu.
     • If your undergraduate institution does not provide electronic transcripts, please have official transcripts mailed to:
