The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is the largest and oldest civil engineering firm in Oklahoma. ODOT partners with the University of Oklahoma in providing a cooperative civil engineering internship program.
ODOT Bridge Squad at the University of Oklahoma
Students in their sophomore, junior, and senior year can apply for the internship that continues through graduation. Students are exposed to a variety of bridge and transportation related projects while obtaining valuable work experience. Experienced engineers and transportation professionals work with students in completing projects and developing students for careers in civil engineering. Students successfully completing this internship program are transitioned to full-time employment with ODOT as Engineering Interns.
Civil engineering student engineers are eligible to receive the benefits of state employment including medical and dental insurance, holiday pay, leave, and tuition assistance.
Current CEES students in good academic standing who wish to apply to the ODOT Bridge Squad should submit a resume and letter of interest to our Norman office located in the Engineering Laboratory building rooms 144 or 146.
