Paula Throckmorton Zakaria and Fareed Zakaria Scholarship

As a result of their life's work in bringing people together from around the world, Paula Throckmorton Zakaria and Fareed Zakaria have gifted funds to the OU Foundation to provide scholarships for University of Oklahoma students participating in study abroad programs with the College of International Studies. The Donors believe in former OU president David L. Boren's international vision and OU's commitment to expanding study abroad opportunities for students.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a full-time, regularly enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in the College of International Studies
• Must be enrolled and participating in a study abroad program sponsored by the University of Oklahoma
• Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Must have a demonstrated financial need
• Applicants may not be an immediate family member of the Donor

Deadline: February 1

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any student unable to complete the program will be required to return the full amount of the award to the College of International Studies.
