OU Sociology professor Dr. Annabel Ipsen was one of three awarded a research grant from the Center for the Americas for her work on regulation, social movements, and the governance of corn in Mexico where she is conducting research this summer. Ipsen also won a seed grant from the Data Institute for Societal Challenges to continue her U.S.-focused research on the work of immigrants and refugees in the agri-food system. The Center for the Americas is dedicated to enhancing programming at the University of Oklahoma in several areas of the Western Hemisphere. Its major focus in Latin America, but it also promotes activities on the Caribbean, Canada, and global U.S. foreign policy.
