Sociology Professor Loretta Bass has been named a 2023-24 Jefferson Science Fellow. This prestigious national award is administered by the National Academies of Sciences and builds capacity for scientific expertise within the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Loretta will spend one year doing applied sociological research working in the Democracy Rights and Governance (DRG) Center at USAID in Washington, DC and on development projects at U.S. embassies abroad.
