OU Sociology Professor John Carl was interviewed on the National Public Radio's Here and Now show to discuss the Oklahoma Prison system. Professor Carl has written widely on the problems within the American prison system and his book A Country Called Prison (with Mary D. Looman, Oxford University Press) was a provocative call to action in the face of a hulking bureaucratic set of institutions. Professor Carl is also the coordinator of the OU Inside/Out Prison Exchange Program.
