Dr. Kasey Jones-Matrona, NAS Mellon Impact Postdoctoral Fellow, presented her paper "Imagining an End to Violence Against Indigenous Women: Intersections of Indigenous Feminisms and Futurisms in YA Speculative Fiction." at the "Creating a World Without Violence Against Women & Girls: The Role of the Arts" Conference at Queen's University in Belfast, Ireland last week. This conference brought activists, survivors, artists, writers, and academics together to "break the silence and defy the shame about violence against women and girls, honour survivor strength and resistance, shape understanding of gendered violence, and provide survivors with moments of recognition of their lives and experiences" as stated by the conference organizers.
Kasey visited the Giant's Causeway, a National Trust Site, in Northern Ireland during her travels.
