What are Social Justice Events and Activism?

The Center for Social Justice is committed to engaging and exposing students to topics related to social justice while inspiring them to become involved in activism.

We believe that it is essential to offer a wide variety of programming to involve students in social justice issues and activism. If you have suggestions or want to arrange a social justice event, email us at peace@ou.edu.
Social Justice Events

The Center for Social Justice understands that students  have different interests, and regardless of gender, age, field of study, or career plan, we see creating diverse programming as part of our responsibility to help students understand the importance of local and global justice. While the Center focuses each semester on a number of more directed areas of justice, we also try to plan events to encompass students’ varying concerns. These events are designed and planned so that every student will find something that is of interest. The Center’s events include public lectures, workshops, awareness campaigns, fundraisers, brown bag discussions. Our events integrate social justice awareness and promote the importance of activism in students’ everyday lives.
