Human Resources
Program Description
Through classes taught by experienced faculty and a hands-on approach to management education, the Division of Management & Entrepreneurship in the Michael F. Price College of Business gives Human Resource Management students an invaluable set of tools to start their business careers. Students take required courses in human resources, organizational behavior and labor economics. They then choose three electives from a long list of courses including compensation management, labor-management relations, supervision skills and negotiations.
All Price College students have the unique opportunity to participate in the Integrated Business Core, which introduces students to business problem solving in a real-world setting. Students split into teams to form their own companies - actual businesses that the students fund through pitching to a local bank for a loan. Students who have participated in IBC have labeled it as one of the most important courses they took at OU. BizEd magazine has featured OU's IBC program saying that IBC students "are likely to be better prepared to take on the larger obstacles that will threaten their companies."
