Missy Stewart has worked at OU since 2006. As Office Manager, much of Missy’s job happens behind the scenes—she takes care of many details that help to keep both the Writing Center and Expository Writing running. Missy serves as the first point of contact for communications coming into and out of the Writing Center. She maintains the WC’s online scheduling platform, WCOnline, co-supervises our student office assistants, assists with logistics for programs and events, and helps to direct traffic on the main tutoring floor. Missy maintains the Writing Center’s website as well, often creating social media posts and posters for promotion.
If you’ve been to the Writing Center, you’ve likely seen Missy’s smiling face or heard her wonderful laugh as you walked in the door! Her bright personality and positive outlook are contagious and a quick conversation with Missy can help calm even the craziest of days. In her free time, Missy enjoys spending time in her garden, watching any OU sporting event, and doing DIY home projects. If you have a question about the Writing Center, or just want to have a pleasant conversation with someone, make sure you stop by to speak to Missy. She’s always happy to talk OU sports (Boomer!), too--just try not to wear orange around her.
