About Darshana:
Darshana's career has been dedicated to supporting students through all phases of their academic journey. She has served as a Student Support Specialist at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, a Graduate Writing Consultant at the OU Writing Center, and has over seven years of experience as a school counselor for middle school and high school students. Darshana joined the University College Academic Advising team in 2023. She holds a Master of Science in Education (School Counseling) and has been working towards a Ph.D in Education Administration, Curriculum, & Supervision here at OU. Darshana is married to a proud OU College of Architecture alum and has two daughters.
What do you like most about working with new students?
I love helping new students because there is so much excitement about all the possibilities ahead. There is so much that students will learn about themselves and the world as they go through the college experience.
What advice would you give to first-year students?
Be open to new experiences! Try new things and get involved in different organizations on campus – you can meet great people, learn more about what you love and have some amazing moments along the way.
What is your favorite place on campus?
I Iove walking the South Oval. I enjoy feeling the energy of the hustle and bustle of campus life.
