Interns will be expected to demonstrate continued growth in their ability to independently and critically evaluate and contribute to research or scholarship activities and demonstrate awareness of psychological theory, empirically-based practice, multicultural contributions, and awareness of professional literature of the field. Interns will also engage in personal professional development through continued review of relevant literature.

Research activities such as work toward completion of dissertation, review of empirically supported treatments and theoretical orientations presentations or publications at the local, regional, or national level. Engagement with and participation in research is also provided through didactic training experiences, development and implementation of the intern professional development seminar for the local mental health community, presentation of their own research in didactic training, and through supervision and assigned readings. Interns are strongly encouraged to make use of the program’s research and travel budget to attend conferences, training, and seminars.
