Culinary Medicine Program Services

Food Service Consultation Services

Our culinary medicine team can consult with your foodservice line to formulate healthy, inexpensive, easy-to-prepare recipes. For-profit organizations may consult with culinary staff for a fee.  Not-for-profit organizations may request basic consultation at no charge and reduced fee services that involve extensive consultation are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Healthy Cooking Workshops for Healthcare Providers

Evidence-based guidelines for the treatment of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and obesity all include dietary change.  Yet, medical training rarely prepares providers on how to properly advise patients on dietary change.  Research also shows that providers who role model healthy eating habits provide more effective nutrition counseling for their patients.

Where can providers begin?

The Cooking CuresTM curriculum is available to currently practicing physicians. These structured cooking classes teach healthcare providers how to prepare delicious, healthy foods that are inexpensive, quick, and easy to make. Classes also include a facilitated discussion on how healthcare teams can work together to promote healthy eating for themselves and their patients. If you are interested in transforming the health of your staff and your patients using our food as medicine model, e-mail us to learn more about private workshop availability and pricing.

Conference Presentations and Workshops

Our Culinary Medicine faculty are available to speak at conferences, workshops, and other venues where expertise in culinary arts, nutrition, and medicine are needed. Please e-mail with your inquiry for a requested presentation, lecture, or workshop. Pro-bono requests will be considered based on need.
