Cassie Holmes

Cassie Holmes is a December 2015 graduate of the Master in Human Relations program at OU-Tulsa. She is currently working toward finishing classes in order to pursue credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Cassie is currently gaining experience in the field as a family intervention specialist helping families involved with the Department of Human Services. Her volunteer activities have included being a hospital advocate and class facilitator at David L. Moss for Domestic Violence Intervention Services and a mentor for incarcerated women at Turley Correctional Center through Resonance Inc. Cassie’s primary research interests include the concept of race and gender intersectionality, specifically as it relates to African American women and the issue of mass incarceration and the cyclical effects on the African American community and family unit.

Joy Miller-Davis

Joy Miller-Davis earned her MSW at the Anne and Henry Zarrow Graduate School of Social Work. Joy has focused her social justice interests in health and historical trauma in vulnerable communities. In her practicum at OU Physicians Department of Social Services Joy is developing a pilot project to impact continuum of care for pediatric patients with disease chronicity. Joy is a community organizer consistently working towards developing safe venues for those impacted by trauma to tell their story. Joy resides in Tulsa with her husband and children. 

Deborah Cruz Bowen

Deborah Cruz-Bowen is a graduate of the Anne & Henry Zarrow School of Social Work at the OU-Tulsa campus. She completed the Direct Practice curriculum along with Social Work with Native Americans graduate certificate program. Deborah has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and holds extensive lobbying experience at the Oklahoma State Capitol on behalf of Moms Demand Action, Planned Parenthood and the National Association of Social Workers. She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children and a member of the Mental Health Task Force of Action Tulsa. Deborah's research has focused on Native American human trafficking in Oklahoma, Attention Deficit Disorder in the Native American population and the effects of secondary trauma of social workers. 

Lacy Lofton completed her Master of Social Work Student on the OU-Tulsa Campus in 2017. She completed her practicum at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Health Care Center within primary care mental health. She feels strongly about social justice. Main areas she has practiced it have been work related, community involvement, and writing that focus on incarceration, alternative courts, geriatric clients’ quality of life and care, discrimination within macro systems, homelessness, and veteran services. While a student, she served as Vice President of the MSW Student Association.
