1970s

Susie Stalcup (BBA, Management, 1976) announced her plans to retire as vice chancellor for development and alumni relations at Vanderbilt University.

2000s

Kelley Grace (Bachelor of Accountancy, 2000) has been named a 50 Making A Difference honoree by the Journal Record. She also will be inducted to the Circle of Excellence – an honor reserved for those being selected for the third time.

 

David Joseph (BBA, International Business, 2000) has resigned from the Department of Justice in order to assume the duties of a U.S. District Court judge for the Western District of Louisiana.

 

Brittney Wycoff (BBA, Accounting; Master of Accountancy, 2004) has begun her tenure as president of the Board of Directors of Parent Promise/Prevent Child Abuse Oklahoma.

2010s

Connor McCaffrey (BBA, Entrepreneurship & Venture Management, 2013) has been named a Relationship Banker for the central Oklahoma region of Armstrong Bank.

 

Sam Matthews (Ph.D., Business Administration, 2018) has co-authored an article in Harvard Business Review with faculty member Mark Bolino.

 

Josue Castro Lopez, Jr. (BBA, Accounting, 2019; Master of Accountancy, 2019) has received a Silver Medal award for the highest scores over windows I and II of the CPA exam by the Oklahoma Society of CPAS (OSCPA).

 

Hannah Kamphuis (BBA, Accounting, 2019; Master of Accountancy, 2019) has earned a Silver Medal award for the highest scores on windows III and IV of the CPA exam by OSCPA.

In Memoriam

James Teegerstrom (BBA, Accounting, 1965) has passed away. Teegerstrom grew up in Shamrock, Texas. After graduating from OU, he worked in the trucking industry in Oklahoma and Texas, as well as the building industry in Oklahoma. In his senior years, he served in the oil and gas industry.

Paula Magarian (BBA, Management, 1984) has passed away. Magarian spent most of her childhood in Lawrence, Kansas, and in St. Louis, then moved to Norman when her father joined the OU College of Pharmacy faculty in 1970. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from OU, she worked at both OU Health Sciences and Norman campuses, and for 18 years served as the Chief Financial Officer at the Norman YMCA.

Long-time community leader and businessman Barry Davis (BBA, Finance, 1963) has passed away, joining his wife of 55 years, Karen Davis, who passed away 10 days prior. A Tulsa native, Davis spent his formative years working at his family’s downtown Tulsa sporting goods store. After graduating from OU, Barry joined the U.S. Army, serving as an artillery officer. Over the course of his subsequent 50-plus year business career, Davis was at the forefront of the national and regional venture capital industry. As Managing Partner of Davis Tuttle Venture Partners and Davis Venture Partners, he invested in and helped nurture a diverse range of innovative companies and entrepreneurs. Davis additionally served as Managing Partner of New Era Group, an energy and natural resources group, and as President and CEO of the Alliance Business Investment Company. A champion for his industry and passionate believer in the transformative power of entrepreneurship, Davis served as National Chairman of the Board of Governors of NASBIC, a national venture capital industry trade association, and was the recipient of the industry’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He was a board member of the National Venture Capital Association, a founder and Chairman of the Venture Capital Institute, Chairman of the Oklahoma Innovation Institute, and board member of the Price College of Business, from which he received a Distinguished Alumni Award. Davis also worked for decades to advance Tulsa’s quality of life. His most notable civic leadership roles included serving as Trustee of the University of Tulsa, Chairman of the Board of Hillcrest Healthcare System, board member of the Tulsa Community Foundation, Chairman of the Morningside Foundation, President of Temple Israel, and Chairman of the Zarrow Pointe Retirement Center.
