Investment Banker to Speak About Energy Capital Markets Aug. 26 at OU

Steve Trauber

Investment banker Steve Trauber of Houston will discuss the availability of capital for energy investments on the Aug. 26 episode of the University of Oklahoma Energy Institute’s webcast.

His message comes at a time when investments in the energy space face significant challenges as commodity prices fluctuate, the emphasis on climate change increases and global energy demand declines because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Launched in June, “The Future of Energy” webcast series features guest speakers and covers topics in the energy sector such as hydrocarbon, renewables and energy in transition. The complimentary episodes are available online at price.ou.edu/energywebcast.

In the newest episode, Trauber, who is vice chairman and global head of energy at Citi, will speak with moderators Mike Stice and Ashley Zumwalt-Forbes.

Stice is dean of OU’s Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy and a member of the Energy Institute’s board of advisors.

Zumwalt-Forbes, an OU graduate, is president and chief operating officer of Black Mountain, a private operating company with natural gas and battery metals assets in the United States and Australia.

As part of the Price College of Business, the Energy Institute is home to the Executive MBA in Energy program. The institute provides a community of practitioners and academics to advance innovative and sustainable solutions to the critical energy challenges facing the nation and, more broadly, the global community through education, research and outreach.
