Gail Mosey has worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for almost 20 years in the Strategic Energy Analysis Center, and more recently in the Integrated Applications Center. Gail holds a master’s degree in economics from Colorado School of Mines and a Bachelor of Science in business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Colorado. Gail’s primary area of expertise has been developed as NREL’s lead for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (US EPA) RE-Powering America’s Lands Initiative on siting renewable energy on environmentally compromised lands including economic and technical feasibility, and any related community impact. Gail also works with tribes and villages on strategic energy planning that includes energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions to meet tribal energy requirements and improve resiliency. Gail is also engaged in identifying holistic community energy solutions for remote and island communities including aspects related to food sustainability and security and the food-energy-water-shelter nexus.
