Stacie Wilson Mumpower
Lecturer of Business Communications
Stacie Wilson Mumpower has a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from the University of Oklahoma. She brings 20 years of teaching experience in higher education and has dedicated herself to designing challenging and supportive learning opportunities for her students. Her teaching areas include organizational leadership, leadership and ethics, organizational communication, business and professional communication, business communication in small groups, interpersonal communication, and public speaking.
Dr. Wilson Mumpower also has professional expertise in training employees and supervisors in the private sector. She served as a Marketing Director in the Banking industry, and a Business Development Manager in the Human Resources industry.
Dr. Wilson Mumpower's research focuses on leadership communication, strategic planning, and mindfulness in high-reliability organizations, such as fire departments and the military. Her research also focuses on the intersection of interpersonal and organizational communication, serial arguments, and communication in long-distance relationships.
Beyond teaching and research, she served as a Family Readiness Leader for various batteries and battalions while her husband served in the United States Army. She experienced living and working internationally in Germany and Japan. She also volunteers weekly at her local church. In her spare time, she enjoys working with her horses.
