Jared has nearly 10 years of fundraising experience in New York City where he led fundraising teams for Fordham Law School, Brooklyn LawSchool, Long Island University, and, most recently, The Nature Conservancy.
As the Director of Development for The Nature Conservancy’s Latin America Region, Jared led a team of international fundraisers based in Bogotá, Colombia; Santiago, Chile; Säo Paulo, Brazil; and Washington, D.C. Tasked with professionalizing the Region’s major donor program, Jared and his team instituted fundraising best practices that unearthed new levels of revenue from individuals and foundations to help break the Region’s reliance on corporate and public funding. The team doubled funding from Latin American-based major donors and transitioned all five advisory boards into philanthropic advisory boards, increasing their giving by 85%. Overall, the team helped raise over $30 million from private and public sources, including directly raising nearly $9 million from individuals and foundations.
Prior to the Conservancy, Jared served as Director of Individual Giving at Long Island University, where he helped construct a $250 million campaign for the University. In addition, he oversaw the University’s scholarship marketing to donors and also managed its first-ever comprehensive naming opportunities project whereby over 2,100 naming opportunities were identified and marketed.
At Brooklyn Law School, Jared and his team developed the School’s first-ever BLS Giving Day to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the School’s historic 15% tuition reduction. Within 24 hours, the School doubled its participation rate from 7% to 14% and raised over $500,000 for scholarship support.
Jared started his fundraising career at Fordham Law School where he oversaw strategic planning, fundraising, and program development for its 17 academic centers and institutes.
Before fundraising, Jared worked at Emanate Public Relations where he supported the launch of Bank of America Home Loans following its acquisition of Countrywide Home Loans.
Jared graduated cum laude in 2008 from the OU Gaylord College of Journalism & Mass Communications where he studied journalism and public relations and was named a Gaylord Ambassador and Gaylord Family Scholarship recipient. He recently relocated to southern Oklahoma City with his wife Jaclyn and their two children, Nora and Rowen.
