Entrepreneurial Law Center

To address critical business and legal support needs for entrepreneurs and small businesses, the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma, in partnership with the OU College of Law, launched Oklahoma’s first-ever entrepreneurial law center in 2023.

If you are seeking legal support for your small business, you can contact our staff via email at elc@ou.edu.

The University of Oklahoma Entrepreneurial Law Center (OU ELC) hosts clients typically on a 15-week basis during the Fall and Spring semesters.

OU ELC is the first officially recognized entrepreneurial law center in the state of Oklahoma and features the first integration of juris doctor candidates and non-law students through its hybridized offerings of general business and other non-legal services.

The Entrepreneurial Law Center offers the following services to startup and small business founders:

  • Entity Formation & Structuring
  • Intellectual Property (Trademark & Copyright)
  • Technology Commercialization (Evaluation & Provisional Patents)
  • Contract Negotiation & Drafting
  • Employee & Independent Contractor
  • Compliance

OU ELC is housed in the Tom Love Innovation Hub, located on the OU Research Campus, and is currently recruiting clients for the fall semester. Companies interested in applying for OU ELC’s services can contact the staff at elc@ou.edu.

Our alumni and community play a crucial role in supporting our programs and helping students reach their academic goals. Your gifts enable us to expand our reach and enhance the quality of education we offer. Scholarships, faculty development, research opportunities and state-of-the-art facilities are made possible through the generosity of our donors, ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

Our commitment to fostering a sense of shared purpose and unity among students, faculty, alumni and donors creates a cycle of giving and receiving, where the support of one generation paves the way for the success of the next. By giving back, our community not only strengthens the university but also transforms the lives of our students, empowering them to pursue their passions and make a lasting impact on the world.
