Management Information Systems BBA/Management of Information and Technology MS

Management Information Systems, B.B.A./Management of Information and Technology, M.S.

The accelerated B.B.A/M.S. MIT. program is a great opportunity for undergraduate students who are pursuing a B.B.A. degree to earn a master’s degree with a specialization in data analytics in only one additional year. The program is designed to allow a student to share hours between both their B.B.A. degree and the M.S. in MIT degree. The accelerated program allows a student to save not only time but money as well.

Curriculum

Formal application is required for admission into the combined B.B.A./M.S. MIT program. Application can be made after a student completes 75 hours of undergraduate coursework toward their B.B.A. degree. This is typically during the second semester of the junior year. Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible after completing 75 hours toward the B.B.A. Accepted applicants are admitted the semester after completing 90 hours toward the B.B.A.

The curriculum consists of a total of 150 hours of study, 32 of which are graduate hours. Students complete their undergraduate general education, general business, and introductory major courses in their first three years. After application and acceptance into the program, typically in the second semester of the third year, students begin taking their upper division and graduate MIT and business courses.

Applicants must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and an acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) to be admittable. As a guideline, applicants accepted into the program have an average GPA of 3.5 and an average GMAT score of approximately 600. If a GRE is submitted, verbal and quantitative scores should be 160 or higher. Scholarships and assistantships are awarded based primarily on these criteria.

Current OU MIS majors applying into the accelerated program will be allowed to waive the GMAT/GRE under the following conditions:

  • No ‘C’ grades in any MIS courses completed at the time of application.
  • Average GPA of 3.33 minimum

In extraordinary circumstances, the admissions committee may consider waiving the GRE/GMAT requirement for students in non-MIS majors. Applicants who wish to be considered should submit the online MS-MIT GRE/GMAT Waiver Request Form during the application process. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Note that completion of a waiver request does not guarantee the examination will be waived.

The range of GMAT scores for BBA/MS MIT students taking the exam who are admitted to the program ranges from 550 to 720 with 620 as the average score.

You may still apply to the  B.B.A./M.S. MIT if you do not meet the criteria for waiving the GMAT exam.
