Applied Artificial Intelligence

The OU Polytechnic Institute aims to prepare students for rewarding careers by presenting them with a combination of AI fundamentals and exposure to cutting-edge tools they will encounter in the corporate environment. Additionally, students will learn about related topics in cybersecurity and software development. The program will provide students with a deep and comprehensive understanding of AI’s principles, tools, and applications. Students will be equipped with the skills necessary to develop intelligent software solutions for complex, real-world problems. The program will also emphasize the importance of understanding the ethical and societal impacts of AI.

OUPI offers mulitiple pathways for students interested in applied artificial intelligence, including a four-year degree on the OU-Norman campus and a bachelor's degree completion program on the OU-Tulsa campus.

Cybersecurity

In our increasingly technology-reliant world, cyber threats are a major concern. With so much sensitive data going online, advanced cybersecurity measures must be created to protect sensitive data, and those measures must be monitored to ensure their efficacy. Because of this, the field of cybersecurity is in desperate need of a wide range of well trained experts, with high salaries going to top talent.

Software Development and Integration

At the OU Polytechnic Institute, our goal is to equip students with the skills they need to become proficient software developers. Our program integrates programming, data, and DevOps expertise with cutting-edge technologies in machine learning, Generative AI, embedded systems, and cloud computing. Our curriculum emphasizes practical skills directly applicable to today’s job market. OUPI’s SDI program prioritizes real-world applications and systems. This ensures our graduates are prepared to tackle a wide range of challenges, from interfacing with the latest AI system, to developing cutting edge mobile applications, to creating new ways to access the Internet of Things.
