OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies Conference Services provides professional meeting planning to University and non-University groups. We offer turn-key conference support including planning, marketing, online and on-site registration and on-site management. Conference Services can host your event in the Thurman J. White Forum Building or other venues throughout the Norman and Oklahoma City area.
In 1957, Thurman J. White, Vice President of Continuing Education and Public Service at OU, secured one of 12 grants given by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation for creating university-based residential conference centers around the world. The grant, the largest the university had received to date, was used to build the Thurman J. White Forum Building and other structures that collectively formed the Oklahoma Center for Continuing Education (OCCE). OCCE was unveiled in 1962 as a self-contained community for adult learners. Today, as part of the OU College of Professional and Continuing Studies, the Forum continues to serve the needs of a wide variety of meeting and conference participants. Participants come from every state and many foreign countries to attend courses and conferences in a variety of formats. The Forum hosts more than 3000 yearly for more than 108,000 attendees.
The Thurman J. White Forum Building is an excellent location for your next meeting or event. The Forum is conveniently located 4 miles east of I-35 on the south end of the University of Oklahoma’s beautiful and historic campus.
The Forum Building is equipped with recently renovated audio and visual equipment, including ceiling-mounted projectors, built-in screens, laptops, and sound systems in every room. Meetings and conferences benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi. Conference Services also offers beverage service and can arrange for catering needs.
