OWRB
The Oklahoma Water Resources Board is the agency that appropriates the use of stream water and groundwater in Oklahoma. Permits must be obtained from the OWRB for all uses of water in Oklahoma, with the exception of domestic use. The OWRB does not provide online access to reported water use data, however, water rights data can be accessed/viewed here.
Water Use Data
Oklahoma water-use data are reported by source (surface water or groundwater, fresh and saline, and total), category, and area type (county). These data are compiled in cooperation with the state reporting agency (OWRB) and are retrievable for the years 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015.
