NORMAN, Okla. – Sixteen seniors from the University of Oklahoma have been selected as Outstanding Seniors for their exceptional achievements in scholarship, honors, awards, leadership and service. Of these 16 students, Jhanvi Patel from Oklahoma City was chosen by a committee of OU faculty, staff and students as the overall Outstanding Senior.
The group was recognized at a recent ceremony, where OU President Joseph Harroz Jr., OU Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students David Surratt, Ed.D., and representatives from OU colleges presented each recipient with their Outstanding Senior Award.

The University of Oklahoma Honors College will host its 38th annual Undergraduate Research Day on April 16, offering the community an opportunity to see the research, creative projects and scholarly work produced by OU students across disciplines.
When people cannot hear their own voices, their tongue movements become less precise when they speak, according to a study from the University of Oklahoma. This finding, the first direct evidence of its kind, could help guide therapies designed to restore speech control in people with hearing loss or those whose tongues have been affected by cancer.
