Hamidreza Karami is an assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma, where he teaches production engineering and related courses. Previously, Dr. Karami worked as a research associate in Tulsa University Fluid Flow Projects (TUFFP) and Tulsa University Horizontal Well Artificial Lift Projects (TUHWALP) for 2.5 years. He received his BSc degree in Petroleum Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran in July 2009. He joined The University of Tulsa and TU's Paraffin Deposition Projects (TUPDP) in fall 2009, and completed his MSc degree, investigating paraffin deposition characteristics under turbulent flow. He then joined TUFFP in fall 2011 to pursue his PhD degree, and completed his dissertation in May 2015, with the title “low liquid loading three-phase flow and effects of MEG on flow behavior”. He then started as a research associate, where he was involved in several projects, applying his knowledge on fluid dynamics and multiphase flow modeling. Multiphase flow through pipelines, wellbore, and restrictions, gas lift, foam lifting, plunger lift, and flow assurance issues such as wax and asphaltene are some of his areas of expertise.
