Graduate Application
Thank you for considering the University of Oklahoma for your graduate education. The School of Geosciences offers Masters and PhDs in both Geology and Geophysics. Below are the requirements for our graduate applications:
1. Complete online Graduate College Application: https://gograd.ou.edu/apply/. This application requires the following documents and information:
a. Undergraduate and any Graduate Transcripts: the School of Geosciences requires applications have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
b. TOEFL Scores (this requirement is for international students whose first language is not English)
Office of Graduate Admissions: English Proficiency Requirements
c. Personal Statement
d. 3 Letters of Recommendation (ideally from professors that know your performance in an academic setting)
e. Information on academic accomplishments, research experience, presentations, and publications.
f. Resume or CV (include cumulative GPA)
2. Identify and contact a potential Faculty Advisor within the School of Geosciences.
Application Dates:
Deadlines for Fall Entry:
- January 1 (consideration with departmental funding)
- April 1 (consideration without departmental funding - International students)
- May 1 (consideration without departmental funding - U.S. students)
Deadline for Spring Entry:
- September 1
