University of Oklahoma Faculty to Give American School Lecture at Auburn

OU’s Gibbs College of Architecture is pleased to announce that two of our faculty will be offering the inaugural Bob & Sherry Faust Distinguished Lecture at Auburn University on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the Gogue Performing Arts Center and streaming on YouTube Live.

This event will feature speakers Hans Butzer, Stephanie Pilat and Christian Dagg. Butzer and Pilat are on the faculty at the Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma, Bob Faust’s alma mater, where Butzer is dean and Pilat is director of the Architecture program. Dagg is Associate Professor of Architecture at Auburn University.

This event will honor the legacy of Robert L. Faust, Professor Emeritus of Architecture, and OU American School alumnus, who passed away in November of 2020. Faust taught in Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at Auburn University from 1968 until his retirement in 2012 while also maintaining his own design practice. The Bob & Sherry Faust Distinguished Lecture is made possible through the generosity and support of Professor Faust’s wife Sherry.

The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a reception to follow and will be livestreamed on YouTube by the College of Architecture, Design and Construction.
