Volunteer docents are specially trained to interact with visitors of all ages and backgrounds and lead engaging explorations of our collections and special exhibitions. As a new docent you will participate in training sessions focused on touring techniques, exhibit content, and a mentoring program all designed to get you started on your journey.
FJJMA DOCENTS: BRINGING ART TO LIFE
Do you enjoy learning? Have a passion for art? Are you great at conversing and sharing with others? If you answered "YES," then the Fred Jones Jr. Musuem of Art docent group is the place for you!
Training runs from September 2023 through May 2024, with an average of two trainings per month, with breaks over the holiday seasons. To apply pick up an application at the Open House or click the download button below. All application materials for the 2023-2024 class are due by Wednesday, September 6th.
