The School of Art & Art History is pleased to announce the opening of “Reclaimed and Remixed: Chicano Art” by Narciso Argüelles. The exhibition opens in the Lightwell Gallery at the School of Art & Art History on February 3rd and runs through February 17th. A free public reception will be held on Friday, February 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Narciso Argüelles is an international artist from Tijuana, Mexico currently residing in Oklahoma. His art focuses on Chicano, Mexicano, Latino and Indigenous issues. Argüelles has exhibited nationally and internationally and his work was recently featured in George Adams’ award-winning documentary “Panic Nation.” Argüelles is also an educator, presently teaching at Oklahoma City Community College and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.
