Originally from St. Louis, MO and a Ritenour High School graduate, Cathrine has spent a decade working to advance arts education and provide quality administrative support to nationally and internationally recognized organizations. She is passionate about the administrative and student engagement projects she has completed throughout her career, as well as her current responsibilities in the OU School of Music as the Graduate Studies Administrative Assistant.
Cathrine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Wheaton College and a Graduate Certificate in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Oklahoma College of Fine Arts. She served in numerous roles on the Women’s Chorale Cabinet during her time at Wheaton, while studying voice with Denise Gamez (soprano) and choral conducting with Dr. Mary Hopper. She began her arts education career as an Arts Administration Apprentice with STAGES St. Louis and, after graduation, became fully invested in arts education and advocacy. Volunteer opportunities have included serving on the Ritenour Alumni Choir Foundation Board, whose mission was to inspire young people through music and support the Ritenour High School music department.
In St. Louis, MO, Cathrine worked for two of the premier performing arts companies, which provide high quality arts education and programming for K-12 students – Education Coordinator for STAGES St. Louis and Administrative Coordinator for The St. Louis Children’s Choirs. Cathrine and her husband moved to Oklahoma in August 2019, and she is incredibly grateful for the opportunities that she has received in the Norman arts community, including her current position that she has held since 2022.
Cathrine loves all things music and theatre, with experience as a stage manager, lighting designer, video editor, box office liaison, performer, and more. She was a featured vocalist for many years with the North County Community Big Band and the St. Charles Big Band. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two cats, binge watching all the best tv shows, coordinating special events and weddings, traveling, cheering on OU sports (especially women’s gymnastics!), and seeing as many musicals and concerts as possible.
