All composition students will give at least one recital of their own music during their time at OU. DMA students are required to, in addition to a recital of chamber music, give a lecture recital on a topic of their choosing.
Recitals are typically given in Pitman Recital Hall, or Sharp Concert Hall. The repetoire usually varies from large chamber ensembles, to duets, trios, and quartets of varying instruments, and solos. Many students also incorporate electronic music (either by itself, or with a live performer) into their recitals. Students are encouraged to show off a wide-reaching portfolio in their recitals, and are encouraged to take advantage of OU's many fine performers and chamber ensembles.
