The Creative Content Programs are the result of programs we have had running since 2018. Up until Spring 2024, they were three separate programs called Media & News, Production, and Influencer Development. Starting with Fall 2024 they are now simply called "Creative Content".
Aimed at bringing our cultures to life across reporting on departmental or industry news, creating hype reels, documentaries, and short form content, or facilitating live broadcasts of competition, events, or entertainment segments, Creative Content is designed to be our media outlet.
Listen to the program intro from the OU ECCI Creative Content Co-Managers for the 2024-2025 school year.
The Media Program is focused around creating short form content that can range from documentaries, interviews, entertainment segments, montage and highlight reels and producing the multimedia rich content that personifies who we are as gamers and esports enthusiasts.
Producing multimedia rich content for consumption by the masses, specific targeted marketing campaigns, or for bragging are all centered around Creative Media Production, a degree taught within our own College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
The News Program are our storytellers aimed at highlighting the individual, the team, the narrative, the movement, or the statement. This can range from a student spotlight, a team overview, a review of a game or hardware, or an opinion piece helping others understand who we are.
Before you buy the next video card, console, video game, or before you watch the game or read the recap, these are all forms of journalistic practicum that couple our love for gaming and esports with degrees taught at OU. We even produce a holiday gift guide!
The production program handles the technical logistics of scene switching, multi-audio, video inputs, graphic overlays, and automation and moderation of interactive channels on Twitch and YouTube Live. The other team has the same skillset as traditional sportscasters using vocal inclination, timing, emotional draw, and analytic review to narrate the drama of competitive energy unfolding in real-time. Additionally, this team facilitates entertainment production in single individual influencer style streams and podcast segments.
Sooner Esports is our home for news, media, and competitive rosters. It is the primary resource of the Creative Content Programs to publish their work and efforts. With over 20K unique viewers on average, it is gaining more and more traction as we continue to create content.

The Creative Content Managers are responsible for recruiting and coordinating student rosters who create content in the scope of the program. They schedule meetings with outside partners, inspire topics for coverage, and manage the process of brainstorming to author unique content that personifies our diverse gaming cultures. Additionally, the live production efforts of our competitive rosters and entertaining podcasts and streams are part of their objectives.

The Creative Content Coordinators are responsible for recruiting and coordinating the vision of the Creative Content Managers through scheduling team meetings, workflow management, and keeping production on time and balanced. An example of this could be scheduling repetitive meetings for the team to execute work, setup a stream, recording, or production including run of show, scripting, or interviews.
