Esports and Co-Curricular Innovation (ECCI) is proud to introduce the new OU Gaming Club GamerHaus Living Learning Community at the University of Oklahoma.
A Living Learning Community is a specialized space on campus where students live, study, and socialize with other students who share a common interest. That common interest just happens to be gaming!
Since ECCI’s origins in 2016, it has promoted a culture where all gamers, regardless of genre, platform, background, or area of study, can feel welcome. The GamerHaus Community is a big step in bringing our growing community from the digital only space to the physical one.
Consider GamerHaus your ultimate gaming haven. Whether you're a competitive pro or a casual player, GamerHaus welcomes all gaming enthusiasts. With top-notch facilities, a supportive community, and ample opportunities for collaboration, GamerHaus provides the perfect environment for you to level up your gaming experience. It’s a place where your gaming passion is celebrated and nurtured, all while fostering a balanced lifestyle.
FUN FACT: Our 160+ program students have sustained a collective GPA average of 3.13 to 3.4 since 2017 from all areas of study.
Find community with other first-year students who are experiencing similar first-year transitions and who share a love for gaming.
Connect with over 3,400 students, staff, faculty, and gaming enthusiasts from all walks of life.
Gain direct access to ECCI's leadership and staff! Our gaming ambassadors oversee events and manage the OU Esports & Gaming Venue. As a resident, you'll have direct communication with this team for gaming discussions, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
In March 2024, ECCI launched the OU Esports & Gaming Venue open to the campus community. The GamerHaus Community is the closest students can live to the complex. Click anywhere in this entire box to learn about our complex.
Being a member of the OU Gaming Club is always free, and in Fall 2024, ECCI will be offering paid membership packages. This will include venue usage hours per month, apparel/merch, and other perks. Portions of this will be included to members of the GamerHaus Community for free.
Community residents will have the opportunity to engage in intentional programming aimed at connecting them with upperclass students and leadership across various developmental pillars:
Community & Labs: Residents will be involved in running our facility, organizing events, and ensuring the well-being of our community.
Media & News: Residents will report on industry news, conduct interviews, and create content to showcase the gaming and esports scene.
Production: Residents may participate in showcasing official OU Esports match play against other universities or take on roles as on-air talent for these events.
Influencer Development/Streamers: Residents have the chance to become individual streamers under the OU banner, representing our culture and embodying their interests and passions.
Intercollegiate Esports: Residents may have the opportunity to represent the University of Oklahoma in formal competitions against other universities in the realm of esports.
There may also be potential student employment opportunities available.
Below are the requirements and instructions for applying to be a first-year resident of the new GamerHaus Community.
Applications are currently closed until Spring 2025.
Nope! You will pay the standard rate for the space based on your housing assignment. Just know this specific community is a highly selective floor with a very limited set of rooms available. You can reference costs associated with Cross by clicking this link.
The community is located in Cross Village, building B located on the Norman campus.
Of course! Your roommate can apply as well by following the same steps and completing the application. However, please keep in mind that there are no guarantees that both of you will be selected.
