The OU Gaming Club GamerHaus Living Learning Community

Esports + Co-Curricular Innovation (ECCI) is proud to introduce the new OU Gaming Club GamerHaus Living Learning Community at the University of Oklahoma housed in Cross Village.

What is a First-Year Community or Living Learning Community?

A Living Learning Community is a specialized space on campus where students live, study, and socialize with other students who share a common interest. That common interest just happens to be gaming!

Since OU Gaming Club's origins in 2016, it has promoted a culture where all gamers, regardless of genre, platform, background, or area of study, can feel welcome. The GamerHaus Community is a big step in bringing our growing community from the digital only space to the physical one.

Why You Should Live Here?

Consider GamerHaus your ultimate gaming haven. Whether you're a competitive pro or a casual player, Gamerhaus welcomes all gaming enthusiasts. With top-notch facilities, a supportive community, and ample opportunities for collaboration, GamerHaus provides the perfect environment for you to level up your gaming experience. It’s a place where your gaming passion is celebrated and nurtured, all while fostering a balanced lifestyle.

FUN FACT:
Our 160+ program students have sustained a collective GPA average of 3.13 to 3.4 since 2017 from all areas of study.

Community residents will have the opportunity to engage in intentional programming aimed at connecting them with upperclass students and leadership across various developmental pillars:

  • Community & Labs: Residents will be involved in running our facility, organizing events, and ensuring the well-being of our community.

How Do I Get Started?

Below are the requirements and instructions for applying to be a first-year resident of the new GamerHaus Community.

  • Must be an incoming first-year (freshman) student for the Fall 2024 semester.
    • This means you've applied and been admitted to OU for Fall 2024.
  • Must complete the housing application through the OU Housing Portal.
    • The University offers many wonderful first-year housing options, and not everyone who applies to GamerHaus Community will be accepted, so make sure you have completed your housing application. Students who are invited and accepted as a member of the GamerHaus Community will be automatically assigned to the GamerHaus Community in Cross B and will receive your room assignment via your OU email from OU Housing.
  • Complete the GamerHaus Community Interest Application Form
    • ECCI wants to know who you are, what you’re interested in, and how your experiences have gotten you here. The more you share, the more beneficial it is to us in building a dynamic community.
  • Watch your emails.
    • Selected students will receive an email to schedule an informal get-to-know-you interview. Scheduling will start immediately, so check your inbox frequently throughout the day. Interviews will be scheduled immediately with a deadline by midnight on April 25, 2024, and full floor selection will take place on April 26, 2024.
