As a casual gamer who plays competitive games, I’ve never been very good at games. My interest in gaming is mostly social. I like competitive multiplayer games because of the co-operative aspect of them and I’ve met some really great people playing some games where the communities are generally considered toxic. These people became good friends and introduced me to discord, watching esports, streamers, and gaming culture in general. I met my partner in one of these discord groups and ended up moving to Oklahoma to live with him. Gaming is the reason I’m at OU pursuing an engineering degree.
