Gary W. Davis is a senior instructor of American Sign Language in the Department of Educational Psychology.
Davis received his M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center, Little Rock, Arkansas, and his B.A. in Counseling with a special emphasis on Services to the Deaf from East Central University. He was previously employed as an associate professor in the Interpreter Training Program at Oklahoma State University – OKC for 17 years.
Mr. Davis has a passion for teaching American Sign Language. He aims to spread awareness about ASL, the Deaf culture, and the D/deaf community. His focus is teaching people that ASL is a natural language equivalent to spoken languages with only modality differences and the part ASL plays in Deaf culture and the D/deaf community.
