Dr. Brittany Hott is an associate director of the Institute for Community and Society Transformation (ICAST), director of the RISE Research Group, and professor of special education at the University of Oklahoma. She is a board certified behavior analyst with doctoral distinction (BCBA-D). Her work focuses on instructional methods for students with learning and behavioral disabilities and research methods for developing and validating school-based interventions within rural contexts. Her recent work appears in the Journal of Special Education, Behavior Modification, Behavior Analysis in Practice, and Learning Disability Quarterly. Along with colleagues, Dr. Hott has secured over 30 million dollars in external research and personnel preparation funding. She received an Elizabeth Farrel Presidential Citation from the Council for Exceptional Children in 2023 and received the American Council on Rural Special Education's Research and Evaluation Award in 2021. Dr. Hott is an active member of the special education community. She is the editor of Rural Special Education Quarterly and an associate editor of Intervention in School and Clinic.
