Dr. Maiden is professor in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the educational administration, curriculum and supervision program area. He earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership with a minor in research methods from the University of Florida.
His research interests are education finance, primarily focused on fiscal equity and teacher compensation. He was co-founder of the Institute for the Study of Education Finance, where he currently serves as Researcher and Director Emeritus.
Dr. Maiden along with his doctoral students are currently focused on financial elements of teacher and administrator retention.
Dr. Maiden is particularly fond of mentoring doctoral students, including co-presenting research results at the National Education Finance Academy and co-publishing studies in the Journal of Education Finance and other relevant journals.
