We wanted to share an exciting update to the OU graduation ceremonies.
The celebration of our graduates at Commencement has always been a meaningful tradition at the University of Oklahoma, and we eagerly anticipate honoring those accomplishments in the future.
We are continuously striving to make this event an exceptional, celebratory experience for our students and their families, and we are always seeking ways to enhance it. We’ve conducted research nationwide to identify best practices and are dedicated to making this special occasion even better.
Beginning in May 2024, OU will be merging its one university-wide Commencement ceremony and 19 separate College Convocations into combined Commencement ceremonies. Each of these ceremonies will be held at Lloyd Noble Center unless otherwise noted, and will include all the pomp, circumstance, live music and pageantry that makes this time so rewarding. All graduates will have their names announced as they cross the stage.
Ceremonies will take place from Tuesday, May 7, to Saturday, May 18, 2024. The Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10, at Lloyd Noble Center.
The university is also planning a new celebratory event for all graduating students on Friday, May 3 – “Party at the Palace” – which will include fireworks, live music, food and more. Additional information will be shared in the spring.
We look forward to offering a memorable celebration that honors the OU journey and is truly worthy of students’ numerous achievements.
