Students in the Sooner Works program traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, in early November with Sooner Works Program Assistant Director Mindy Lingo, Ph.D., to present at the annual National Division on Career Development and Transition convention.
Junior Grace Medina, sophomores Avery Anderson, Paige Leftwich and Matt Lange, and freshman Jacob Rudes led the panel titled “Sooner Works Student Panel-Inclusive Postsecondary Education Program at the University of Oklahoma.” Hearing directly from the students, attendees learned more about what skills are needed for success in the program, and what the students feel are the most valuable components of their college experience.
Sooner Works is an inclusive program where students live independently in university housing, attend a traditional college course, participate in competitively paid internships and are actively involved in campus life through organizations, clubs and Greek life.
