Doctoral Program Admission Requirements

Applicants must be accepted by both the program for which they are applying and the Graduate College.  The University has moved to a unified online application to fulfill both the program and Graduate College application requirements simultaneously.

Doctoral admissions for the Ph.D. and Ed.D. programs occur simultaneously, allowing applicants to apply for EITHER program.  Any applicant who is unsure about the most appropriate program given his or her needs is allowed flexibility in reaching a decision, in consultation with the EACS doctoral admission committee.

Specific application materials are required for the Ed.D. and Ph.D. applicants. Refer to the doctoral application information below. The selection of students into either the Ph.D. or Executive Ed.D. program consists of two parts. In the initial phase the EACS faculty reviews the application materials. The most promising candidates are invited to an interview with program area faculty, the second phase of the process.

The Ed.D. cohort begins in the Fall semester and review of applications occurs in late spring semester. Applications for the Ph.D. program are reviewed twice per year, with students admitted during the Fall and Spring semesters.
